Lake Norman Dragon Boat Festival

The Lake Norman Dragon Boat Festival brings teams of paddlers to Ramsey Creek Park for a day of racing on the lake. Teams of 20 paddlers compete in colorful 40-foot dragon boats, racing 250-meter courses in heats throughout the day.

No experience required — many teams are first-timers from local companies, churches, and friend groups. Spectators enjoy a shoreline festival with food vendors, live music, and a beer garden. Proceeds benefit local charities. The atmosphere is part competition, part beach party.
